We're excited for Knowing the Living God, a four week introduction to basic theology and the doctrine of Woodlands Church. This is a Core Class, alongside Bible 101 and Faithful Habits - a class we believe everyone at Woodlands should take at some point!
Four weeks is far too short to go into great detail about theology (or the study of God). But this class will give a robust overview and provide lots of space for processing, questions, and application. The goal of all good theology is that we would worship God more fully, and that's what this class hopes to do!
Each week, participants will read through the class material and wrestle with some application questions. If reading isn't your favorite, you can also listen to the material recorded on YouTube. Then, we'll gather together during the 8:45 service to discuss our observations, process questions, and explore who God is and why that matters.
The weekly topics include:
1. God: Knowing our triune, creator God
2. Humanity and Revelation: The purpose of humanity, pain of sin, and knowledge of God
3. Salvation: The incredible work of God, done for us
4. Redemption: All things made right
This class is taught and facilitated by Dave Bondeson.
You don't need to know any theology or have any particular background to benefit from this class! It will start February 22nd, and run for four weeks, during the 8:45am service.
Week 1's material will be available by February 15, for all registered attendees.
In addition to the class materials, there is an optional 52 question Catechism that accompanies this class which can be purchased when registering, or during the class itself.
